That quote is one of my favorites. It so perfectly encapsulates how valuable music is.

MCNeil High School's Chambers and Show Choirs put together an excellent concert at the Texas State Capitol. This is my younger brother's senior year and I was so excited to attend and photograph this event.

The standout moment was the choir's performance of Homeward Bound composed by Marta Keen. All their songs were performed a cappella, but this one was particularly beautiful and haunting. (If you've never listened to Homeward Bound, I recommend you do so immediately.) The sound echoing off the rotunda, the soloists and ensemble combined, and the nostalgia and longing combined in a truly enchanting moment.
