Another month down in the Portrait A Week challenge! Just as a reminder: for the rest of 2019, I’m challenging myself to photograph a portrait a week. A few guidelines I’m using are:
Photograph a different person for each portrait; no photographing the same subject multiple times. (Success so far!)
The portrait must be taken the same week it’s posted; no shooting ahead and squirreling photos away. (Check!)
Portraits are posted at the end of that week on Saturday. (Not so hot on this one.)
5/30 | Sarah
I took this portrait of my cousin, Sarah, at our grandma’s 86th birthday celebration. We share the Hurley dark hair and freckles combo!
6/30 | Megan
Megan and I work in the same building and have bonded over numerous shared favorites like tea, costume dramas, and reading. Along with sharing a first name, we also share a personality type (ISFJ)!
7/30 | Ashton
I have an ongoing portrait client in a salon franchise here in Austin. When each stylists moves into their space, I photograph their headshots. This particular location has a reddish/orange brick front, which isn’t a flattering backdrop for most people. For Ashton, I tried a different perspective on the building and her portraits are my favorite I’ve ever taken at that location!
8/30 | Cosmo
Cosmo is one of the teaching leaders at my Bible Study Fellowship class. He’s also an inventor and designed Mobo System, a Swiss Army knife of a mobility tool. So he’s pretty cool.
