Spring was proposal season for me! Witnessing three such sweet and special occasions was a beautiful privilege. Jay & Amaya’s engagement finished out the season for me.
I go to church with Jay’s parents and was honored when he contacted me about photographing his proposal to Amaya. We discussed possible locations and I suggested he check out San Gabriel Park in Georgetown. This spot is so peaceful. It’s on the San Gabriel River, which makes for a beautiful setting. There’s plenty of riverfront, so the park feels spacious - perfect for a proposal without feeling like you’re in the public eye.
Jay scoped it out and decided that was the spot!
Jay’s plan was to take Amaya out for a picnic. My brother kindly tagged along with me as a “photography subject”, so I could play the role of portrait photographer nearby, without arousing Amaya’s suspicions.
She said yes!
Amaya was surprised, so mission accomplished! We followed up the proposal with some engagement portraits, something I always love doing for the couple.
